Venue Hire And Conference Facilities
Avondale offers many venues for hire on a scenic location that is conveniently situated close to the Sydney-Newcastle freeway. Surrounded by mature gardens, historical buildings and with general facilities just a few minutes away, Avondale is the perfect place for conferences, recreational events and sports. As well as a range of accommodation venues available in the wider Cooranbong area, Avondale offers a number of rooms during College holidays which can be used in relation to conferences, events and subject intensives (winter school).
Auditorium
The Chan Shun Auditorium, a newly renovated multi-purpose centre, can be used for sporting events (including indoor soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, netball etc) as well as conventions, conferences, concerts and events involving special guests. Package deals can be negotiated.
Cafeteria
The Cafeteria can be hired with or without the kitchen. It may be used for a single meal or booked for a large, catered event. It provides a meat-free food service with world-class vegetarian cuisine. Breakfast generally consists of an assortment of cereals and hot foods, while lunch and tea (dinner) consists of hot food, salads and sweets. Drinks, bread, fruit and ice-creams are available at any meal. The cafeteria is a great meeting place on campus and a popular venue for announcements and special functions.
Classrooms
Avondale has 15 large classrooms and 10 small ones that can be used for meetings, presentations and other conference related events.
College Church
College Church seats approximately 900 people and can be hired for weddings, school speech nights, school productions, fundraising and charity events and concerts. If you would like to hire the Church, please contact Joy Taplin on (02) 4980 2272 or e-mail joy.taplin@avondale.edu.au.
Lecture Theatres
Avondale has three lecture theatres available for use. One seats 100, the second seats 140 and the other 204. All lecture theartres have data projector and audio facilities.
Sporting Facilities
As well as the Auditorium, Avondale has a range of sporting facilities available to staff, students and visitors. Our Gym, recently refurbished, offers a variety of equipment to encourage holistic fitness. The oval can be used for any sports - from cricket to football to soccer - and Avondale also has four squash courts, two tennis courts and a pool that can be booked for both sporting competitions and recreational events.
