Professor Tracie Mafile’o is an experienced social science researcher, and is Associate Director of the Scripture, Spirituality and Society Research Centre at Avondale University. She has led multidisciplinary, international, and community-engaged research and consultancy teams across Oceania. Research, international speaking and publications have addressed a range of topics, including cultural humility and capabilities of the children’s workforce, Pacific social work, climate mobility and family stories in the Pacific, Adventist families in Australia, youth development and resilience in PNG, HIV prevention in PNG, and Pacific elders in New Zealand. Prof Mafile’o is a registered social worker, and her career has primarily been in social work education, research and also University administration in New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Australia.
